Simpang Lima Gumul Monumen

If we know the Arc de Triomphe (L'arch D'Triomphe) in Paris as the gate of victory of French, in East Java, Indonesia, there is Gumul Simpang Lima as the gate of victory of Kediri in unified five areas as one Kingdom, Kediri. Therefore, this monument has been become the Icon of District Kediri. It is justfor about 6km from Kediri or 120km International Juanda Airport Surabaya.

This Gumul Simpang Lima Monument is built by District Kediri's Governance on 2003 and be finished on 2008. This Gumul Simpang Lima is located at Tugurejo Village, Subdistrict Gampengrejo, District Kediri, East Java, Indonesia. It is in the five cross of five roads to Menang, Kediri, Pare, Pesantren, and Plosoklaten.

This Monument is aimed to be a new city and western trade center of East Java Province (Central Business District). Therefore, in this place, the visitor can find convention hall, regional bank, bus terminal, public transportation, and Water Park Gumul Paradise Island. There are also minimarket, cafetaria, information center of trade and tourism, shopping center, wholesaler center, and souvenir center.

As a Central Business District, this place is always visited by people, even though just for fun or spending their time to relax. Many streets vendors (PKL) lines along the roadside to provides traditional culinary, clothes, apparel, accessories. Usually, in Sunday morning, this area is used to be jogging track, family recreation place, or just for spending the time to enjoy the traditional market area, Pasar Tugu.

Then, in the Gumul Simpang Lima Monument area, the visitor can enter the long aisle to enjoy the historical diorama, enjoy many historical reliefs and statues. The visitors also can enjoy room by room, level by level until the eight floor where they can watch around the Kediri's scene.

By the way, there are three tunnels to the monument. So, it will be fantastic and exotic trips when we visit this Arc de Triomphe of Kediri.
